At number 1 is Hot Toys Bank Robber Joker.
Enough said...Hot Toys really has set the standard for the 12" inch market!
This is my first Hot Toys figure but definitely not the last.
Sorry wallet...it will be hard on you!

Now to our roving reporter to see what the Joker has to say.

LPM reporter : Congrats on getting into the LPM Top 10 Fave Toys for 2008.
Joker : This city deserves a better class of toys. And I'm gonna give it to them!
LPM reporter : Ok...
Joker : Wanna know how I got these scars? My father was... a drinker.....
LPM reporter : No...see ya!

Wonderful figure!

Little Plastic Man Top 10 Fave Awards 2008 - Number 2

Coming in at number 2 is Takara World Smallest Transformers!
These are simply amazing toys. They have the G1 design, so freaking small and yet they can still transform. Simply amazing!

Now to our roving reporter.

LPM reporter : Congrats!
Optimus Prime : This shows that size does not matter!
LPM reporter : Yes...well said.
LPM reporter : Erh...how do you intend to bring the trophy back...it is almost the same size as you!

Little Plastic Man Top 10 Fave Awards 2008 - Number 3

In at number 3 is Dragon 2nd Rangers Cpt Miller!
I just love the movie (Saving Private Ryan) in which this figure represents!
Just for that, it gets into the list. In addition to that, it took me so long just to get my hands on it! Also the accessories are pretty cool!
You can read my past review here.

We will now zoom in to our roving reporter as he has a few words with the winning ranger.

LPM reporter : Congrats! You must be feeling great!
Cpt Miller : When was the last time you felt good about anything?
LPM reporter : Erh..
Cpt Miller : If that earns me the right to get back to my wife, well then, then that's my mission.
LPM reporter : Ok...You deserve it...

Little Plastic Man Top 10 Fave Awards 2008 - Number 4

Coming in at number 4 is Mattel Movie Master Batman.
This has been one of the highlights for Mattel in 2008. They have finally created a 6" inch line strictly for collectors and saved us from getting crappy and shitty toys for the Dark Knight movie. To top it off, Mattel also did the Bat-pod under the Movie Master line. Great move!
Such a great movie deserves a great toy line. Thank goodness Hot Toys got the 12" inch covered while Mattel took care of the 6" inch market.
If price was a factor in deciding who gets into the list, there is a chance that this MM line will not be included...however that is another story for another day.
My past reviews on the figures and Bat-pod.

Over to our roving report for the interview.

LPM reporter : How do you feel getting into the list!
Joker : Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. We are tonight's entertainment!
Joker (turns to Batman) : You complete me. I think you and I are destined to do this forever.
Batman : This city just showed you that it's full of people ready to believe in good.
Batman : Sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded.
LPM reporter : Good for you...erh enjoy your win...

Mattel Movie Master Bat-Pod

What do you do if you want the Bat-Pod but...
1) You can't afford to buy the Hot Toys version
2) Don't want to waste your hard earned $$ on the crappy mass market version
3) Don't want a stylized version of Batman to ride on it
Well...you will get Mattel Movie Master Bat-Pod!

In my earlier post, I predicted that I will most probably get it and I will pay a premium for it! If only I was so accurate when buying the lottery...sigh...
Mattel Movie Master (MM) line is intended squarely at collectors and so far consisted of the characters in the 2 Batman movies, Batman Begins and Dark Knight (I got Batman TDK suit & Joker). Surprisingly Mattel decided to do a vehicle and they chose the Bat-pod.

The sculpt for the Bat-pod is pretty decent and is close to the movie. The tires are made from rubber with sculpted treads, hence making it realistic. My complaint for the Bat-pod is the paint. I did not like the metallic wash that they used as it made the pod grimy looking! Maybe Mattel was trying to get the "after the battle" look.
The Bat-pod was made for the 6" Movie Masters figures and if you have the Bat-pod you have to make Batman ride it...however it's easier said that done. I found it difficult to fit Batman on it but Michael from mwctoys seems to be able to fit Batman pretty well onto the Bat-pod. I have to agree with him though that it's more of a problem with the figure (having a neck joint that doesn't have quite the range of movement it really needs) rather than a problem with the Bat-pod.

Overall a good addition to the MM line. I was excited when I first read about this but for the price I paid maybe not that excited...but still happy!

You can also read Shaun's review on the Hot Toys version of the Bat-pod.

Simple packaging

Little Plastic Man Top 10 Fave Awards 2008 - Number 5

At number 5 is Takara Tomy Encore Transformers!
Transformers was one of the toy line that I wanted to collect when I was young but had to forgo because of lack of funds. Thanks to smart marketeers at toy companies, they realised that these kids have grown up and now have purchasing power!
Once Takara released their Encore series, I knew I had to get my favorite transformers this time round!
I have not reviewed much on my transformers, just Jazz.

Over to our roving reporter for a few words with the winning team.

LPM reporter : Congrats on your win. Any words for the fans?
Jazz : It's wonderful to be part of the list!
Soundwave : Operation Win Award...objective to get into the list...
LPM reporter : Erh...Jazz...do you know where Ratchet's face is?
Jazz : Shhhhh...
LPM reporter : Oh..sorry. Enjoy your win.

Too bad I still have not opened up Metroplex!
One of my all time favorite!

Little Plastic Man Top 10 Fave Awards 2008 - Number 6

I may be biased but coming in at number 6 is Little Plastic Man Paper Toys!
These may not be the best looking toys but they were the most creative things I have done for 2008! Just for that, they get into my list.
You can see all my paper toys here.

Over to our roving reporter for the interview with the winning team.

LPM reporter : How do you guys feel getting into the list?
Iron Man : Erh...it's kind of expected.
Stormtrooper : Yar...we are made by Little Plastic Man and what list is this?
LPM reporter : Erh...Little Plastic Man Top 10 Fave Toys 2008...
Stormtrooper : Exactly!
Joker : But we are still happy.
LPM reporter : Hulk seems agitated.
Hulk : Hulk smash!
Pop Culture Junkie : Here we go again...
LPM reporter : See Ya...I'm out of here!
