Little Green Skaters!

Did a review on Aj's Toy Boarders some time back.
A modern twist to the evergreen army man.
Instead of soldiers they are now skaters! A very cool idea.

Recently, these little green skaters have built their own skate park in my home and I have managed to catch them in action...LOL

Little Plastic Man Presents: We All Need Some Nirvana Sometimes - the Big Bang Theory edition

I am a huge fan of the Big Bang Theory series.
It makes being a geek so cool!

It's been a while since I have done any paper toys but one day I just had inspiration to do a Big Bang Theory   one.
Anyway Little Plastic Man is proud to present: We All Need Some Nirvana Sometimes -  the Big Bang Theory edition.

Currently there is no template for this series because I am too lazy to clean the template up.
However if I can get 100 likes for this on my facebook page, it might just motivate me to move my butt and upload the templates.

Marvel Legends Iron Man 3 Iron Patriot

Not sure if it was due to all the hype and high expectations, Iron Man 3 to me was a disappointment. I found the creation of the many suits and the ability to control them with his mind, thus creating an army of Iron Men slightly over the top. The lack of a mechanic villain (like Iron Monger and Whiplash) also was disappointing...well just my humble opinion.

Hot toys continues to produce the 12" figures from the 3rd installation of the movie but this time they have decided to come out with the new die cast collection for suits.
It sounds like a great idea to introduce the die cast collection for the Iron Man 3 given that PlayImaginative is producing their Iron Man in die cast through the Super Alloy series.
But...wait, it is now even more expensive on top of already expensive Hot Toy figures.
Well I guess there goes the idea of collecting more suits from the movie.

So if Hot Toys figures have gone too expensive, we turn to the smaller 6" figures from Hasbro's Marvel Legend Iron Man 3 series.
Wait a minute...when did a 6" figure become so expensive! In Singapore, they are retailing at $39.90.
Because I had $20 shopping vouchers, I decided to pick up the Iron Patriot even though I am complaining it is so expensive...Heck I am weak!

I like the packaging.
It is attractive and at the same time it keeps the figure in place and safe.
Best of all there are no twistees and you can easily release the toy from packaging without much fuss.

I find the overall sculpting of the figure really well done. I am not a collector of the Marvel Legends series so I am not sure about its standard but compared to the last 2 Iron Man movie figures, I think it is a huge improvement.
Only pity is that the shoulder gun is not as detailed.

Even though there is an occasional paint slop which is common in these figures, the overall paint job is pretty well done. The details like the name of LT Col James Rhodes on the suit is clear and well painted.
The painting also makes the suit metallic looking which is a super plus point for me!

I also love the articulation on this figure.
It allows for many poses and it was great fun taking photos of it.
Overall a very nice figure but at that price point it is really not worth it.
Such a pity that a toy needs to go to that kind of price point.

Sideshow SnowTrooper

Finally Sideshow has decided to produce a trooper not from episodes 1 to 3. Clone troopers from those episodes have been flying out of Sideshow factories and I think Sideshow has pretty much covered all the troopers that appeared in those episodes.
To be honest, I loved the troopers from the older movies because they were really different from each other.
The design of the Stormtroopers were totally different from the Snowtroopers and the Snowtroopers were totally different from Scout troopers. Unlike the new clones where all you need was a new paint job on the armor and you have a new design...

Snowtroopers, also known as cold assault stormtroopers, were Imperial stormtroopers trained to operate in arctic climates. Some snowtroopers were deployed under the famous Blizzard Force.
The Snowtroopers were the successors of the clone cold assault troopers and the Galactic Marines under Clone Commander Bacara.

The packaging is the same as most Sideshow Star Wars packaging, so there is nothing much to talk about.
The figure and the accessories are kept securely and nicely in the plastic tray and you can take out and put back the figure from the packaging without damaging it. I love this kind of packaging.

Sideshow has done many clone troopers and they are pretty good at it. The design of the Snowtrooper is different from your typical clones and I think Sideshow has managed to nail it. I think the tricky part will be the cloth collar and how to make it natural.
Sideshow managed to sculpt it in such a way that the material could hold the wrinkles and folds which are essential to make the whole helmet look good.
The armor is all nicely done and I also love the look of the boots. It is packed full of details.
Only pity is that the boots are sculpted as a whole. It would be nicer if they made individual pieces for the boots.
The underlying suit and skirt are also very nicely made. The material used feels very soft, like suede and I think it would be that kind of material the Empire will use for their Snowtrooper to keep them warm.

The chest plate was constructed of a plastoid composite armor. Near the center were all of the control for the self-sufficient troopers' life support systems. These included an external temperature monitor, power cell monitor and the controls for the suit heater.

The troopers' backpack housed the main heating unit, main power cell, communications unit and a homing beacon. The pack also has the ability to work as a power source for other equipment.

As compared to the other clone troopers, the accessories are on the lighter side. It comes with with 3 pair of hands, a E-11 blaster and a stand. For the exclusive version, you get the vintage blaster rifle.
The backpack is removable and there is a thermal detonator that can be attached to the belt. Both items are very well sculpted and painted. They are also easy to attach to the figure.

The stand is the typical Star Wars stand but they have included a snow cover to make the display stand more realistic.

The Snowtrooper is one of my favourite troopers and I am glad Sideshow has produced him. I hope they produce more troopers from episodes 4 to 6 like the Scout troopers or AT-AT driver.
Overall a great figure to add to your ever expanding trooper collection...wink.
