Hot Toys The Batman Armoury

What can I say.
The amount of details and accessories are insane.
It was also backbreaking to put up all the pieces but was super worth it.

threeA Atom - Real Steel

Real Steel is a 2011 American science fiction sports drama film starring Hugh Jackman and Dakota Goyo, co-produced and directed by Shawn Levy for DreamWorks Pictures. The film is based on the short story Steel, written by Richard Matheson, which was originally published in the May 1956 edition of The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, and later adapted into a 1963 Twilight Zone episode, though screenwriter John Gatins placed the film in U.S. state fairs and other "old-fashioned" Americana settings.

Real Steel is those movies that you can watch over and over again. The movie is set in 2020 where human boxers are replaced by robots. An underdog story where Atom, a discarded robot, who was found and restored by Max and together with his father Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman), they overcome difficulties and win major bouts to eventually get a bout with Zeus , the undefeated world champion. They almost beat Zeus and Atom was labelled the "People's Champion".
The bond of father and son strenghtens over the course of their journey.

threeA was the company that obtained the licence to produce the high end figures for the movie.
They have already released Ambush, Midas, Nosy Boy and the hero Atom. Everyone must be praying that they produce Zeus but I am not holding my breath.
threeA is a perfect company to produce the figures for Real Steel. They excel in post apocalyptic robotic theme like World War Robot where you get all the beat up metal and rust!

The packaging is one big box since the figure is almost 16 inches tall.
The design is pretty simple and plain, with the Atom logo in the front of the box.
There is no plastic tray and the figure is instead placed in a foam encasement.

As for accessories, if you did not get Bambaland exclusive there is none.
The Bambaland exclusive comes with Atom's controller. Well that's about it...
I am not sure what they could have added since Atom does not have any accessories in the movie.
Maybe a Max figure? Haha wishful thinking.

Given threeA's experience in producing figures from Ashley Wood's post apocalyptic robotic designs (WWR), threeA has done a great job in sculpting Atom.
The details are insane with all the screws, pistons and bolts.
The paint job to create the rust and weathering is also first class.
Atom is a big fella but on hand he is not that heavy as he is not die cast.
Even though he is not die cast, the great job on the sculpt and paint makes you think that he is made of metal.
Articulation of Atom is also quite good and you can get good poses out from him. Unfortunately, he is top heavy so he is likely to fall over. We do not get any stand with it hence the best pose for displaying Atom is him standing straight (like he is on standby mode...)

Showing the great details and paint ops.

Atom comes with light up feature. The eyes and the chest lights up and there is a motorized fan at the back.
The batteries and the switch to switch on the eyes are at the back of Atom's head.

The switch to activate the light for the chest and fan at the back is at the side of the figure. On the other side, the batteries are housed there.

I have been wanting to get this figure for such a long time but the cost was always a barrier. Fortunately, I was able to hunt down a BIB atom for a much reduced price and now he is in my collection.
I love the movie so it is a no-brainer to have this figure in my collection.
