Updating Liverpool's Trophies Banner

Was going to put up my Liverpool's "up for grabs" trophies banner for 2010/2011 when I realised that I had to redo the banner!

Yup...Liverpool will not be competing in the Champion League next season after finishing 7th last season, hence I had to replace that trophy with the UEFA cup.

Next season brings many changes, new manager, no Champion League and yes...new set-up box! I have to get Mio TV from SingTel now in order to get my BPL fix next season!

Lets hope these changes bring trophies!

We are almost there!

Yes we are almost there...to capping off a terrible season! We just need to finish this season out of the top 4! Can't be that hard based on what I am seeing.

We have crashed out of the league cup, Champions League and now the FA cup (and by Reading...OMG). PLUS we are way off the league! Really makes for confidence reading.

They say a true fan will stand by their team in their darkest hour and I will continue to support Liverpool no matter what. As our motto goes...You Will Never Walk Alone.

But please beat Stoke today...please.

Too early to update the banner this time!

It is only Nov and I have already updated my Liverpool trophies banner twice. If our form continues like this, I will most probably be crossing out the other two trophies pretty soon.
Sign...in the early morning of Wednesday, Liverpool crashes out of the Champions League, a competition in which we were pretty dominant in the past seasons. Now we have to contest for the UEFA cup. (and I am not going to add that into my banner!)
I did however noticed something...since SingTel won the exclusive rights to show Champions League matches from StarHub, Liverpool crashes out from the competition! I shudder to think of next season when SingTel will have the exclusive rights to the BPL...will Liverpool be relegated...(touch wood!)...

New EPL season (2009/10) is here...lets us try again

Last season, I decided to put on my blog the 4 trophies that are up for grabs for Liverpool. If Liverpool is unable to win that trophy, I will cross it out. As we all know, Liverpool did not managed to win anything. :(
Never mind...the new season is here and we will try again. The new 2009/10 trophy banner is now up!

Trophyless season...

Well...another trophyless season. However there are still positives from the 2008/2009 season! They are:
1) Excellent results against the top 3 teams
2) Push Man Utd all the way for the EPL title
3) Good goal difference and only lost 2 games.
Just need to work on turning those draws into wins! I am looking forward to the next season. Till then...I will go through my yearly EPL withdrawal syndrome.

We don't want it!

After last night's defeat at the hands of Boro, let us be realistic and forget about the mathematical chance, Liverpool’s title bid is over.
What I can't get over is that we seem uninterested and not bothered to even try to make things difficult for Man Utd. Liverpool started so well at the beginning of the season (maybe a bit lucky at times) but lost our way near the end!
It is not just on the field we lost the plot, but also internally within the club. The problems with the 2 owners, the new stadium not being built, manager against CEO...sigh.
I don't even want to talk about Rafa's tactics at times...???

We just don't seem to want it...

50% of the trophies which Liverpool can win this season are now out of reach. As Liverpool crashes out of the FA cup, I reluctantly have to update my Liverpool's trophy tracking banner once again.
Looking at the bright side, these 2 trophies are the least of our priorities and at least we will not be distracted from our ultimate goal, winning the BPL title.
No matter, being a Liverpool fan, every loss leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Updating my Liverpool's trophy tracking banner can only mean 1 thing. We have crashed out of a tournament!
Liverpool lost 4 -2 to Spurs and went out of the Carling Cup.
It was a disappointing performance and we really gave the game away because of our woeful defending. The youngsters also did not grab their chance to impress the manager.
On a brighter note, this tournament is the least of our priorities (but as a Liverpool fan I want them to win everything!).
Okay...Let's not make this a habit...

Saturday started horribly as I had my wisdom tooth extracted. The dentist said it was really deep and she took 1 hr and 30 mins to extract that one stubborn wisdom tooth!
It was painful and I could not even open my mouth. The worst thing was I was hungry but I just could not eat!! What could possibly make the day better?? Hmmmm.......

Finally we gained our first league victory over Manchester United under Rafa after trying 9 times (or 4 years). I am so happy and the weekend seems so much better. Its amazing how a day can turn out! I am really enjoying it!

New EPL season (2008/09) is here

As a loyal supporter of Liverpool and fan of soccer, I am relieved and happy that the new EPL season has finally started. During the last few months before the season started, my weekends were filled with emptiness as I suffered EPL/Liverpool withdrawal syndrome..LOL

As a Liverpool supporter, every season I hope that they do well and win as many titles. This season is no different and I have decided to put on my blog the 4 trophies that are up for grabs.
If Liverpool is unable to win that trophy, I will cross it out. Hopefully as the season ends, there are not much crosses..:)

Why we can't win the league.........

The season is over........

Well...the season is over for us after the Champions League semi final loss to Chelsea.

It was a close match and either team could have won it. Unfortunately, it had to be Chelsea.

I guess the stupid own goal in the 1st leg came back to haunt us.

I am disappointed especially losing to Chelsea but we just have to pick up the pieces, dust ourselves and march on.

Bring on the next season.You will never walk alone.

What can I say.......

This match basically typifies the whole season for Liverpool.

Super INCONSISTENT!

They were brilliant in the first half but were unable to kill it off.

In the 2nd half, they were rather awful.

Luckily, Everton was not able to score.

It was also fortunate that Tim Cahill was injured as he has a knack for scoring against us.

Well a win is a win and we now have a cushion of 5 points over them.

Next task...Arsenal. Bring it on!

We really need to win this to keep a firm hold on 4th spot.
We will be entering a very difficult and busy run-in playing Arsenal 3 times in the EPL and Champions League Quarter Final.
If we win this, we will take a comfortable 5 points lead over Everton.
As long as Gerrard and Torres play to their max, I don't see us losing.
The last post I might have jinxed it so this time round......
