NECA Conan the Barbarian Action Figures

NECA has officially released images of Conan the Barbarian Action Figures Series 1.
First is War Paint Conan, sporting an iconic pose, eyes blazing with barbaric fury!
Next is Pit Fighter Conan, sporting vicious bladed gloves from his brutal days as a slave.

I am really excited after seeing the images as I always wanted realistic figures from the movie "Conan the Barbarian".
I hope we will also be getting Conan's 2 companions, the archer Subotai and the thief Valeria, & lets not forget Thulsa Doom, cult leader of a shamanist religion that worships Set, a Snake God, in his oh so cool armour.
Fingers cross!

Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

It's not easy to capture Harrison Ford's likeness onto an action figure.
Look at the majority of the Han Solo's figures.
Even when I saw the Indiana Jones figures on the pegs of Toys R Us, I was really disappointed in the Indiana Jones's sculpts. They just looked like a man in an Indiana Jones's hat and jacket

That was before I stumble onto this version
I have to admit that this is not the perfect sculpt but it does grow on you (and it's so much better than the others).
It does have a resemblance to Harrison Ford.
The scale is the same as the Star Wars figures so it should fit in nicely with all your Star Wars figures

There are quite a number of accessories for this figure. It comes with the famous whip, removable hat, pistol, 2 hands (the Crystal Skull is permanently attached to one of the hands) & a wooden box (made out of cardboard) which contain a secret item. I wish that the Crystal Skull was not permanently attached to the hand but if you have a steady hand and a sharp cutter I think you could remove it.
Each figure comes with a box with a secret item in it. This figure came with a diamond (The Eye of the peacock..I guess it will feature in the movie)

Overall I am happy with the figure. I don't think I will be buying the other figures in this line. Well.....maybe 1 or 2 baddies so Indy will have someone to fight with.

The package is nice and it does scream to you "Take a look at me!"

He does look like Harrison Ford

My 3 favourite Harrison Ford's movies.

Dragon US 1st Cavalry Lt Col Moore & RTO Smith

Majority of my toy collection is made up of 6" figures. I only have a few 12" figures.
I would love to add more but due to a limited budget I just have to resist the temptation.
However after I stumbled onto Shaun & Alex's blogs, I was so inspired by their collection that when I saw this set I just had to buy it.

This item is based on the Battle of Ia Drang in November 1965, the first major engagement of American troops in the Vietnam War.
It was made into the film "We were Soldiers" with Mel Gibson playing the character of Lt Col Moore.
The movie was enjoyable but not fantastic.

I especially love the details on the AN/PRC-25 radio and it even comes with a spare antenna & handset pouch.
I spent some time putting the accessories onto the figures. I must admit it was frustrating at times but overall I did enjoy myself.

If you had to carry that huge radio on your back, might as well make the best of it

25th anniversary GI Joe action figures

Yeah! Finally made the holder to display my carded 25th anniversary GI Joe figures.
Did a earlier blog (click here) on these figures and my intention to display the card's artwork on the wall.
Got my inspiration from Michael Crawford's website mwctoys.
I made mine out of acrylic sheets bought from ArtFriend.
I currently only have 3 figures but once my shipment from the US arrive, I should have enough to fill up 3/4 of the wall.
I think it will look awesome!!

The season is over........

Well...the season is over for us after the Champions League semi final loss to Chelsea.
It was a close match and either team could have won it. Unfortunately, it had to be Chelsea.
I guess the stupid own goal in the 1st leg came back to haunt us.
I am disappointed especially losing to Chelsea but we just have to pick up the pieces, dust ourselves and march on.
Bring on the next season. You will never walk alone.
