Countdown to STGCC 2012
Wow...just a few more days (3 more days to be exact) to STGCC 2012!
I am really glad that this time round I am going with my blogger buddies!
The last time we went together was at STGCC 2009! 3 years ago!
You can check out how great the past STGCC was. Past reviews of STGCC 2009 , STGCC 2010 & STGCC 2011.
Check out what is happening at STGCC 2012
Was surprise when I got a little gift from STGCC! Such a nice gesture.
Yeah free Gong Cha when I am there!
Tickets will be available for sale at the convention on 1 & 2 Sep, 8am to 7.30pm
Haha...remembered that I did a paper toy based on the revamp STGCC mascot in 2011!
The cute design is now with Alex from Toy Haven...the actual designer of the mascot!
Bet he is happy over at Toy Haven!

Sideshow Boba Fett
Boba Fett was a Mandalorian warrior and bounty hunter. He was a clone of the famed Jango Fett. As the first of many Fett replicas designed to become part of the Grand Army of the Republic, he was raised as Jango's son. Jango taught Boba much, training him to become a skilled bounty hunter just like Jango.
In the Battle of Geonosis, Jango was killed.
Just a boy, Boba was forced to grow up and took to traveling the galaxy. Later, he became a bounty hunter and took assignments from beings such as Jabba the Hutt, and achieved notoriety despite his young age.
Fett made his most notable bounty when he captured Rebel hero Han Solo, and brought him to Jabba. A year later, during the Battle of the Great Pit of Carkoon, Fett fought against the group of Rebels. However, he was knocked into the mouth of the Sarlacc by Solo.
There have already been toy companies (eg Medicom) producing 12" Boba Fett figures but I have resisted them all the way.
When Sideshow announced that they were launching their 12" Boba Fett, I decided to get him since I have had pretty good experience with their Star Wars figures. (minus their loose joints)
I guess by now, everyone is familiar with Sideshow Star Wars packaging, hence I will not be talking much about it.
The box is thick mainly due to a pretty thick base. Other than that, it is pretty much the same as the rest.
Boba Fett ranks up there as one of the coolest character in the Star Wars Universe.
It is not because of the way he talked or the actor who played him. It is all down to the design of his suit and helmet. It is one cool design.
Sideshow has showed time and time again they are good at sculpting clone troopers' armour hence it should be no different for Boba Fett.
However this is not really the case here. There are good and bad points about the sculpting.
Let's start with the good. The helmet itself looks fantastic, and I love the appearance of the visor plus the nice weathering.
Now for the bad. The torso amour is made of some soft rubbery material hence it looks very flat on Boba's chest. It does bring down the overall appearance for Boba just slightly.
One of my favourite parts of the figure is the cape. It has a wire inside of it making it possible to articulate the cape. Think HotToys Batman cape.
I think it was a nice touch and because of that we can bring the displaying of Boba Fett to another level.
Throw in some doves and you have a John Woo's scene!
Like the Clone Troopers, you get loads of extra hands (11 in total) so you have more options on how to display the figure. You don't just get extra hands but extra pair of feet with bended toes.
Fett also comes with two blasters - pistol and rifle. Both weapons fit nicely into the hands and the pistol also fits into the hostel located at his side.
When I was looking through the accessories, I came across 4 pieces that I did not know what they were for. After researching on the internet (just ask Google), they were actually Boba Fett's tools and they go into the pockets of his pants!
Who is Boba Fett without his jet pack!
It's a single piece (no rocket firing here) with two hooks that slip into loops on his back.
It's not super hard to put it on hence it is also not super hard for it to slip off the hooks.
Just a slight bump and the jet pack is off his back!
If only that happened at the Great Pit of Carkoon and Boba would not have been eaten by Sarlacc!

I heard the exclusive came with 2 bases, one with the basic light up style and the second is the simpler base with the Mandalorian symbol.
As mine is not the exclusive, I only have the basic light up one. Actually it is a really nice base, different from the ones you usually get with the other figures.
Every Star Wars fan would need a Boba Fett in his collection and it's about time I got one too and this Sideshow version does just that!
