Mcfarlane Movie Manics Eward Scissorhands

Edward Scissorhands (played by Johnny Depp) was about an artificial man which was left unfinished with scissors for hands. He was later found and taken in by a suburban family and falls in love with their teenage daughter played by Winona Ryder.
Edward Scissorhands was a 1990 movie directed by Tim Burton.

I have always asked myself why would the scientist who was creating him use large scissors as stand-in for his hands before he could finish creating proper hands for him? Wouldn't it be easier just to get him some prosthetic hands first? Anyway, I think it could have been much worse...Edward Tamponhands or Edward Toothbrushhands....just to name a few.

I remembered the days when Mcfarlane toys were highly sought after because of their 1st class scuplting and them producing characters that will never be able to sustain a toyline, eg their Movie Manics series. The only problem was the lack of articulation in their figures.
Well those days are pretty gone as other companies like NECA, Mezco & Hasbro have also upped their standard. Heck! Even Mattel has sometimes did excellent work, as in the case of their MOTU and Ghostbusters toyline.

Ok back to the review. The sculpting of Edward is excellent and the resemblance of Depp is there. They have even added tiny details like the cuts on his face which is always a nice touch.
I especially like the way they did the hair. It could have been a disaster but thankfully it came out well.
The details of his suit are also good and the texturing excellent. Even at 6", they managed to sculpt his scissorhands pretty well.
Most of the paint ops are clean but there are areas (the buttons) where you can spot some sloppiness.
As everyone is aware, the articulation is pretty bad and you can only get one good pose out of him. However, there is still articulation in his scissorhands which was surprising (in a good way).

Overall, a nice 6" figure to have on your display as Edward Scissorhands is a cult classic.

Hey Ma look! I can move my "fingers"

The suit will also look good on MJ too! Eward Scissorhands is a touching movie and the part he trims the garden left me with deep impressions.

Nice! Although they lack articulations, I really do miss the days of these Movie Maniacs toys!

Yes Mohamad , disappointing about the bad articulation.
Dennis - I found the movie so so only ...:P
Agreed Des!
Rebel - Same here...at that time toy collecting was still relatively cheaper as compared to now...
