Little Plastic Man Top 10 Fave Awards 2008 - Number 9

Coming in at No 9 is Hasbro 25th Anniversary GI Joe!
What I love about this is the beautiful and old school artwork on the card! These are the only figures that I do not take out of their packaging.
Not only is the card's art great, Hasbro has also improved the sculpt of the figures!
I even dedicated part of a wall to display the beautiful packaging.
Yo Joe!
You can read my past review here.

We will now hand you over to our roving reporter as he has a few words with Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow from the winning team!

LPM reporter : Hi guys...Hello...Hey there...
LPM reporter : Erh...it seems that both Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow are pretty "tied" up at the moment. I guess they are happy to be in the Little Plastic Man Top 10 Fave Toys for 2008.

Although not generally a Joe fan or collector, I have been secretly admiring the 25th anniversary line since it began. I realized the other day that, in addition to the great updated figures, the old-school cards and simple blisters are a huge part of their charm.

Try to open a new Star Wars or Transformer figure these days without a damn chainsaw. Good luck. But a GI Joe peels right off the card for immediate play, just like the good old days.

I can imagine kids getting these and playing with them in the car on the way home. Instead of having to be told "You'll have to wait until your dad gets home, junior. He's the one with the engineering degree."

Tell me about it, the tedious method required to remove toys from their excess and difficult packaging these days also occurs in My Little Pony.

I know they want to make the toys less shoplift-proof but at the rate they use so much tape and wires, I think kids can hurt themselves when they get impatient and they attempt to rip out the toy.

Using force is not going to work out...and to think that we are also paying for all that unnecessary packaging that gives us such a headache!
